Belltown Billiards helps set a Guinness World Record on Sept 30th at approx 9:25pm

Pop-punk rock trio Quickie to play 40+ shows in one day!

Sept. 22nd, 2010--- SEATTLE, WA ---  Seattle pop-punk band Quickie plans to set a World Record by playing 40+ venues in one day! The “40 Quickies in One Night” marathon of mini-concerts will take place on Thursday, September 30th, from 9:30am until midnight or “however long it takes,” says Quickie’s lead singer and bass-player, Lou Trez.
The band says the goal is simply to get their music heard. “It’s never easy when you are a local band, writing original songs,” Trez explains. “So you have to create your own opportunities to get people to listen.” Creating that opportunity included gathering support from sponsors like Zip Fizz, Cowgirls Espresso, Rock-n-RollRealtor.com, and 48 clubs and cafes in the area. “It’s a real community effort. We’re all having fun with it!”
The event kicks off with a high-profile interview and live performance on the Bob Rivers Show on KZOK-FM. “We’re honored and so happy to play the first gig of the day on a Seattle radio-institution like KZOK and the Bob Rivers Show. Bob, Spike & Joe are very gracious to give us the opportunity.”
Additional gigs (see the complete list below) will have the band running around from Everett to Seattle and all points between, playing a mixture of acoustic and amped-up rockers. “Not every band can do this.” Trez claims. “We’re lucky in that our songs are under three-minutes each!”

ALL SHOWS ARE FREE.

The “40 Quickies in One Night” tour will ultimately bring the band to the Central in Pioneer Square, a venue significant to Seattle rock history, having hosted bands like Nirvana, Soundgarden, Mother Love Bone and Mudhoney. “We’re a different breed than those great bands, but there’s no question we have to play the Central. And we’ll play a longer set there. Kind of a victory lap.” Trez laughs: “I hope I have a voice after singing all day!”
Quickie will also be filming a documentary of their World Record setting mega micro-tour, partly to document the event for the fact-checkers at Guinness, and partly in the hopes that it will make a compelling film to share one day. The footage will also be used in a new music video.
Quickie made national headlines over the summer with their song and video “Bikini Barista.” Visit www.youtube.com/quickietheband to see it for yourself.
